About Ascend Pilates Studio

Ascend Pilates Studio is a fully equipped Pilates studio offering state of the art Pilates Reformer and equipment classes in a private, semi-private, and group setting. Improve your sports performance, enhance functional fitness, improve posture, prevent injuries and heighten your body awareness. Pilates improves balance, coordination, proper/efficient breathing, and circulation. And is adaptable for everyone! As Joseph Pilates said “A man is as young as his spinal column.”

Pilates is essentially about re-educating your body, undoing the damage that years of stress and immobility inflict. By repeatedly holding certain corrective exercises, our musculature starts to retain a memory of how they feel, and in time will actually adopt them automatically.

“Breathing is the first act of life and the last. Our very life depends on it.” Pilates teaches various breathing techniques to enhance relaxation, lower blood pressure, and to activate specific muscles that help improve posture.

The health benefits of Pilates include: improved flexibility. increased muscle strength and tone, particularly of your abdominal muscles, lower back, hips and buttocks (the 'core muscles' of your body) and balanced muscular strength on both sides of your body.

Angela is a PMA Certified Pilates Teacher. She is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and a Certified Golf Fitness Instructor with the Titleist Performance Institute. She has been in the Health and Wellness Industry for a span of 20 years working in a variety of different environments, from Community Centers, Rehabilitation programs, Hospital in-patient and out-patient therapy, Pilates Studios, and Fitness Centers. She had the opportunity to take Franklin Method Level 1 teacher training at Pat Guyton Pilates Studio in Boulder, CO with Eric Franklin. Which was a “game changer” in her Pilates practice and teaching. “I am able to utilize different types of fitness modalities and come up with practical and functional fitness programs specific to my clients needs, wants, and desired outcomes”. Angela’s love for the mountains and outdoors fuels her passion for maintaining hers and her client’s strength, mobility, vitality, and longevity.

As a comprehensively certified Pilates instructor I have the knowledge and experience to safely guide you through a fun and effective workout! I love being active and getting outdoors whenever possible. Pilates Cadillac

The Pilates Cadillac is a piece of equipment that most closely represents that of a bed with a frame. It takes our classic Mat and adds the springs for support and challenge. The trapeze table was developed in the mid 50's or early 60's. Cadillac also called "The Rack" or "Trapeze Table," this popular piece of equipment is one of the most effective and versatile of all Pilates apparatus. It comprises a raised, horizontal table top with a four-post frame to which are affixed a variety of bars, straps, springs, and levers.

Pilates Reformer

A wide variety of exercises are done on the reformer to promote length, strength, flexibility, and balance. Most Pilates reformer exercises have to do with pushing or pulling the carriage or holding the carriage steady during an exercise as it is pulled on by the springs.
